Dogs! Teeth! : Anima [Exclusive]

I am very excited to present this exclusive live recording of an acoustic song by a brand new band, Dogs! Teeth! They have not yet released a single - their first 'A Family Fantasy', comes out out on 12 May, and will be launched at an event in Stamford (more details below).

The song featured today is called 'Anima'. For those of you not familiar with the Jungian approach to psychotherapeutics (me neither!), apparently, and according to Matthew from the band, Jung spoke of Anima being the soul of a man, and Animus being the soul of a woman.

"The song is about the impossibility of knowing my soul, and yet the importance of remaining in connection with it regardless, and the gifts that it can offer. When I talk about soul, I am not referring necessarily to a Christian soul, but my most essential essence: the spark of life inside," says Matthew.

Wow. And here it is. Don't forget to read on below to find out a bit more about the band ...

As mentioned, Dogs! Teeth! release 'A Family Fantasy' on 12 May, although you can already watch the video on YouTube

It's a brilliant track - catchy, rocky, innovative, a little bit different. You can see why the band give themselves the tagline, "Quirky Soulful Irreverence".

With no official releases to sit on yet, this band have already built a pretty solid reputation. This is by taking a very clever approach, building a buzz by working their own networks and putting in lots of persistent hard work plugging their new single several months in advance. This has led to airplays on BBC Introducing and across internet radio, and plenty of live dates already lined up.

This includes the launch party at Voodoo Lounge in Stamford, with guest Das Kapitans, The Deadites and The Dodo Appreciation Society (tickets are available here).

Dogs! Teeth! have their own website, and can be found on Instagram and Facebook
