Part 3 of this week's short series highlighting some great, younger talent. Carenza Carole, a singer-songwriter from Suffolk, has been attracting some attention with her music recently. This isn't surprising given the strength of her writing which show some real skill and impressive finesse - she certainly deserves more.
'Falling in love again?' showcases the gentler side of her voice, including lovely use of her higher range. It's pleasing and subtle throughout. You could see there'd be a real temptation to let this song build more, but Carenza stays restrained to the end, and this is very effective. There's a simple arrangement to this tune, allowing some nice harmonies to come through.
You're given the feeling of a soothing English folk song, with acoustic guitar and soft rhythms playing their part, but there's also a modern twist to it, and a sense of youth and real vulnerability, too.
Pay closer attention to the lyrics and you'll spot an undercurrent - something of a knowing, sadder story. And the chorus and finally the song itself culminates in a very well-judged answer to the song's title. No spoilers here - listen for yourself below:
